The Stars have IT..

Made it to California, as you can tell from the last post.  What I didn't tell you in the last post is that we visited Vic's Crazy family in Thousand Oaks.  Uncle Jerry and Aunt Mel have been the warmest and most giving people.  They have opened there home many times to Vic and I, and we love them for that.  Upon arriving at there house it was determined the the drains were blocked up.. waste water system was a no go.  Tree roots had grown into the pipes and were slowing the drain in the front of the house.  Uncle Jerry spent most of Saturday with a rotor rooter trying to get the tree root out without luck.  This is Easter weekend, and somehow got a Shop in LA to drive up (1.5 hours) and try to get the clearance so we could use water and take a shower.  After the service was unsuccessful. They decided to get a power water jet to cut the roots.   I asked if they were bringing a Jet Engine on a flat truck to blow this baby out!  I need to take a shower.  Vic and I were joking that if we go on tripit and only give Chateau Loustalot  a 2 star rating.  3 starts if the water is running.... Hotel Antar came through with a Shower (4 Star Resort) and all was good.  Easter was fun, and we bumped up the star rating to 2.5 after the shower on Monday.  Well off to our 5 Star stay with Keith and Roberta.  There was a water issue there also, but all was good.  (someone shut the water off at there house)  Is there a water problem in California?  hum......

Vic and I loved California and the new friends we meet and stayed in some very different places.  Next time we go, we will be checking the star ratings, since the stars have it....

California-vacation (Californation)

Vic loves to travel.  That is no doubt.  She says I'm the best travel buddy she has ever had.  We went to California (the land of fruits and nuts) to visit family and old re-acquainted friends.  While there, we got to do sight seeing, and eat very good Mexican and Cal-Mex food along with some very special different cousine.

This story is about the our friends and there daughter.  Keith is an old time friend that I went to school from 1st. grade to 12th. (P.L.P.
see next post)  Sometime along the way after graduation, we parted ways, and never turned back from our Little town of Manchester.  Keith's wife is a native Californian from Huntington beach. They have 4 wonderful kids, Emily, Alex, Jack, and Andrew.  Emily is away at school, and sent a picture to her Mom and Dad, that looked like this:

Emily said it was not permanent, and Keith and Roberta were permanently not happy!

When Keith and Roberta found out about this little secret of a tattoo, they freaked out.  Vic is in the background trying to calm down Mom and Dad, saying our daughter has some, and she has not turned to the dark side of life (Shelby #3) .  Calm Calm....

Keith had an Idea, and this is what they did, take a picture in response to hers.

Great idea, but it was an ink pen.  I said is should have said "W.T.H." for what the heck were you thinking.  We all got a good laugh about this and I'm sure there were some more conversations between daughter and parents about this little secret.

Just another story of what Californation will do to people...

Vic and I loved being with Keith and Roberta for the week.  Golf, Food, sight seeing, and fun with the boys.  What a week.

Were planning on seeing them again real soon, either in Michigan, Cabo, or Cali....
